An interactive experience learning as Ali shares her passion for food and introduces local ingredients and dishes, all with superb regional wine matches. Ali's creative food is simple at heart and is easily replicated at home. You'll gather recipes and ideas to last a lifetime.
Arrive at 12 noon, share a luncheon platter and settle into the lodge.
Spend the afternoon with Ali in the kitchen, learning to make Te Koi’s beautiful signature dishes.
Pre-dinner, visit the boutique Himmelsfeld Winery, meet internationally renowned winemaker Beth Eggers, and taste her delicious aged wines.
At night, enjoy the lodge and experience more of Ali’s fresh regional food, matched with local wines.
Rest and relaxation: after a country breakfast it’s your choice of golf, cycling, eco-tramping, tennis or a rejuvenating massage or restorative yoga. (These are charged separately).
Late afternoon, Ali and her team will conjure a dinner of fresh local foods. Join Ali as she gathers herbs and vegetables in the kitchen garden; sit at the kitchen bench and chat about the menu; then savour Te Koi menu favourites, matched with wine from Kina Cliff winery (introduced by the wine-maker).
Leisurely breakfast before a visit to Neudorf Mushrooms, a wild mushroom farm in the Moutere Valley. Learn the fascinating science behind growing these mushrooms, many of them rare in New Zealand. Walk through the forest where the fungi proliferate, find out how to identify and cook them. Then sample them at a tasting lunch.
In the afternoon, Ali and her staff teach more simple-but-splendid dishes that will become family favourites.
At dinner, Te Koi co-owner and host, Ian Metcalfe, presents wine matches from boutique wineries in the area.
A 50% deposit is required to secure your reservation, with the balance payable 15-days prior to your arrival.
Fully refundable if cancelled 15-days or more prior to your arrival. Non refundable is cancelled 14 days or less prior to your arrival.
Transfer to and from Nelson Airport can be arranged with Lodge at a charge depending on numbers in group. Please let us know your requirements when you confirm your booking with us.
Enjoy breakfast on your last morning with us, prior to departing the Lodge.
